Screenshot 1
In this screenshot, we are changing the Material iProperty of the adjusting nut to copper. All the materials defined in that component are listed in the drop-down box for ease of selection. The cell with the red background is not editable, since assemblies do not have materials.
Screenshot 2
Here, we have added the Date Created iProperty to the list of Selected Properties. The small buttons to the left of the top two iProperties are to open the Enumerated Properties dialog for that iProperty. When used, the cells in that column are edited in drop-down format (like the Material iProperty above) and are populated with all the values that appear in that column. If unchecked, the data in the cells is edited as standard text.
Screenshot 3
The Date Created iProperties of all the components now appears in the grid area. YIPPEE ProČ is datatype-aware, and automatically selects the standard date-picking control to edit a date.
Screenshot 4
A Property Function is being defined for the Description iProperty of the clamp screw. The top two iProperties listed in the Properties box (*Diameter and *Length) are exported parameters in that component. Their values are used to dynamically build a meaningful description of the part, and are both formatted as three-place decimal values with the unit omitted. In Inventor, exported parameters are accessible as Custom iProperties, and YIPPEE ProČ prepends an asterisk to Custom iProperties to group them together at the top of the list and to distinguish them from a similarly- or identically-named standard iProperty.
Screenshot 5
The Property Function has been created. The background color of the cell has been changed to a bluish-purple color to signify this. To edit the Function, right-click on the cell and select Edit Function, and the Edit Property Function dialog will again appear with the predefined Function already in the Function Definition box.
Screenshot 6
We are about to change the extruded length of the clamp screw from 1.76 in to 1.88 in. This length is controlled by the same parameter (Length) that is exported and was used in the Property Function above.
Screenshot 7
After changing the extruded length, notice that the Description iProperty of the clamp screw has been automatically updated to display the new length. No longer will your parts list contain stale data because you forgot to manually update an iProperty. YIPPEE ProČ's Property Functions do all the work for you.
